It is a well known poker basics trick where you need to realize that the bets that will hurt us the most are those that will keep us trapped on how we should go any further. The better way to understand the poker basics is to look it from the reverse. If your current bet will not give you a clue about how to go further do not make it!
Example if a player is going to bet in to you and you are having a terrible hand, you better fold. This is a very good decision indeed; however, if the bet is going to be made in to you and you are not able to decide on whether you should fold or play, then this is a tricky situation and this can lead to you making one of the costliest mistakes.
Good players know to manipulate poker basics in a way to put the other player in a situation of indecisiveness and they do not get trapped in in-decidable bets. Every time you make a bet, all players are not in to it always. Even if they seem trapped they might come out in the next street bet. So never overestimated that they are trapped, they might have probably relieved out of a fit.
