The best 5 cards in Omaha usually wins the game per Omaha poker rules mostly, but in high low split or eight or better games the best high and best low hands have a chance to split the pot. The low hand is allowed to crack a half the pot if there are no equal lows. If there are equal lows the pot is quartered.
Point count systems for Omaha helps to identify hands that have an average 50% chance of winning. Any hand that is worked out by this system tends to have a 15% probability to win most of the time. It must not also be noted that the point count systems in Omaha are just guidelines and not any quick way to make money. They are just another well-tested mathematical poker algorithm.
Follow the Omaha poker rules and be sure you read the board right. Tables and algorithms are guides and not bibles to play Omaha. Use a bit of the tables, bit of tricks and bit of bluffing to finally run the pot. As always, be unpredictable. By using this technique you can optimize your winning better rather than working on the 1+1 = 2 kind of approach.
