Play free poker with a bit of attitude to learn the game than to whine away the time playing just craps and casuals. Start with standard games; consider to play tables that are meeting with your skill levels; at least in the beginning days you need to restrict yourself to play with opponents that have skills that are equal to your category.

When you tend to play free poker with players that are weaker than you, there are chances that you can judge your ability to have been improved a lot when you have not. Similarly, when you are going to base the games with experienced players, you may tend to under judge your ability and develop sort of lows in confidence.

To avoid such emotional confusions in the beginning, practice many tables with players of equal caliber; and, after you get used to the games and get the confidence to play more and develop the stomach to tolerate failure you can graduate to play with monstrous poker criminal brains.

Unless you play with tough opponents you might not graduate to be a pro. If your motive is to become a pro, base you play with tough opponents.
